Amminex Emissions Technology A/S was founded in 2005 based on research completed by five scientists from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). They developed a unique way of storing and transporting ammonia safely and at high density in a salt; originally magnesium cloride.
Knowing that ammonia was required to reduce harmful nitrogen oxides (NOx) from diesel exhaust, Amminex set out to apply the core technology - initially in vehicles where the need was eminent due to continuosly stricter environmental legislation.
Since 2005 Amminex has experienced fast growth having changed from a small research company to a credible partner in the global automotive industry ready to produce.
Our Ammonia Storage and Delivery System (ASDS) can
ensure that the diesel car manufacturers fully live up to the legislation which by 2014 demands a significant reduction of the legal limit of nitrogen oxide in car exhausts.
In 2009, Amminex entered into a long-term agreement to supply the company´s NOx reducing technology to the leading US truck and engine group Navistar.
By the end of 2010, Amminex entered into a joint development agreement with French Faurecia, the world´s 6th largest automotive equipment supplier and number 1 in automotive exhaust system technology.
At the same time Amminex purchased the company´s first production plant, which is located in Nyborg, Denmark. The new large-scale processing plant is 6500 m2 and capable of production from 2012.
