The system is called ASDS: Ammonia Storage and Delivery System.
Ammonia is the optimal chemical for the reduction of NOx emissions and our system allows the safe use of gaseous ammonia onboard vehicles.
In combination with an SCR-catalyst, our technology offers drastic reductions in emissions under all real-life driving conditions.
In the SCR-catalyst, ammonia from the ASDS reduces NOx to harmless water and nitrogen.
Our compact ASDS is founded on two scientific achievements that will change the way ammonia is used in the automotive industry:
1. The invention of AdAmmineTM; a chemical way to store large quantities of ammonia in a compact form that is both safe and easy to manage.
2. The development of a complete system with an intelligent software package that allows you to release the stored ammonia on-demand and feed it to the SCR-catalyst. The system has been optimized for lowest possible power consumption in order to have minimal impact on fuel economy.
